    The name “ Dai Vi” refers to the profession of wood. From the former time, Dai Vi villagers, Dai Dong (Tien Du, Bac Ninh province) has woodworking craft. The workman in village go everywhere, bring their ingenuity and diligence to build cultural buildings, pagodas, lentils, shrine... And their children maintain the traditional profession of the predecessor. In Dai Vi, instead of breaking down ancient houses, people tend to build and revive them...

     

    Coming to Nga Son to learn to weave mats.

This civilization reached a high level of rice cultivation techniques, irrigation, tools development and livestock professional use. The development of wet rice civilization created favourable conditions for the formation of contemporary culture as Hemudu Culture, the Dong Son Culture, Culture of Peace, ...

     

    Hoi An lantern.

    Traditional lantern is a unique product of Hoi An - the world cultural heritage.


    For a long time, Hoi An lanterns have not only given the old quarter a unique feature but also an attractive souvenir item for tourists. Hoi An lanterns are variety of colours, materials, styles and shapes, from round, octagonal, hexagonal to squash, garlic. Hoi An people are very proud of their lanterns made by themselves. To make lanterns, old bamboo is soaked with salt water for 10 days to prevent termites, then dried, made thin depending on the size of the lamps. Covering cloths must be special like silk…, which are tough to stretch without tearing. Also, workman need techniques to make curves straight.

     

    Coming to Cham village to learn how to make ancient pottery.

    Bau Truc Village, Phuoc Dan town, Ninh Phuoc district, Ninh Thuan province handed craft pottery by hand. This pottery village is considered the most ancient village in Southeast Asia. Beside traditional products as “lu”, flower pots ... Cham artisans also create a variety of art potteries in original decoration.
