Ha Long Bay
is one of the most spectacular places in the whole of Vietnam.
Ha Long Bay was recognized as a World Heritage in 1994 for its magnificent beauty and geological expressed through thousands of natural islands.
Bay is located in the Gulf region, northeast of Vietnam (about 150 km from Hanoi). Halong Bay abuts Cat Ba Island in the southwest. To the west is the coastline of 120 km, covering a total area of 1,553 square km with 1969 islands.
Viewed from above, Halong Bay is like a vivid landscape with rocky islands, clear out the water under blue sky. Halong Bay is also a biodiversity area with high concentration of mangrove ecosystems, coral reefs and tropical forests with thousands of species of plants and animals.
Eternal beauty of Ha Long Bay is made up of three elements: stone, water and sky. Colorful island systems with many shapes.
Inside the largest islands they are beautiful caves and great mystery. Hang Dau Go to amaze the senses with many huge stalactites hanging in mid air and stalagmites increase the miraculous.
Halong sea is very characteristic: blue, smooth and flat. The beauty of Halong seasonal changes. Spring, tree buds pop up on the limestone islands. In summer, cool water and the sun's rays are the sparkling reflections. In the fall, especially at night, moonlight illuminated the mountains, on the sea, so images appear like silver plated. Winter, frost popular, Halong glamorous as "a floating flower basket on smooth wave" (Nguyen Tuan).
A special feature of Ha Long is the biodiversity, hidden inside a natural resource important and should be preserved in order to maintain the ecological balance of the whole region. Biodiversity is a general term used to reflect the diversity and abundance in nature of all living things.
Whole flowers have not been recorded correctly because many island remains unexplored.
In 2002, a survey of assessment and verification of Ha Long Bay on biodiversity made by the authorities and researchers. They examined nine areas with the aim of maintaining biodiversity and search, discovered a new species.
In recent years, Ha Long Bay has attracted a large number of tourists both domestic and international; honored to welcome many international delegations, including the leaders of many countries worldwide.
Even if you tire of the scenery there’s a lot to do in the bay – kayaking across the tranquil waters, swimming, or even climbing up a rocky cliff with your bare hands. The vast majority of visitors come on organized tours from Hanoi, travelling by road to Ha Long City, on the bay’s northern shore and spending a nigh on a cruise on the Bay.
